This is the time when things start to matter more, when I hasten to do the things I’ve wanted to do since my feet stepped onto home ground, when it feels like just yesterday I was telling my best friend and boyfriend how we had a long, long summer ahead of us with plenty of time to accomplish the things we set out to accomplish during those hot and humid months, all before fall comes around.
And here we are now, standing at the halfway mark, midsummer almost nothing but a glimmer behind us, offering retrospection and a little push for greater things. Time and how fast it glides by ever so gracefully you don’t even notice it never fails to amaze me, leaves me breathless. There are of course, times when it seems to pause, and linger on a particular moment, but before you know it it’s gone again, fluttering by like a hummingbird eager for the next blossom, akin to the subtle yet poignant sweetness of the future.
Regardless, the past month and a half or so have been simply wonderful to me – so much has happened, I’ve learnt and grown so much within that short but significant period of time, and the lovely people who’ve been a part of it all. Thank you, so very much. This is the time when I sit back and reflect, appreciating all that has happened so far and embracing what’s to come next, preferably with a hot cup of tea or a glass of white.
And this blog shall be a little sanctuary I can call home wherever I am, a haven of my thoughts, ideas and everything in between, the David to my Michelangelo. Hello there, August. You’re looking lovely.
